Hello there! This is my first time making glycerin soap and I have to say that is was super easy and fun. I have made lavender goats milk soap before, but this time I wanted to start with a clear soap base and add my own coloring and essential oils. I love making health and beauty products because you can customize them to your liking. I really liked using the tin-molds because they created the prettiest shape. This vintage tin-mold soap would make a great gift idea!

- Clear Glycerin Soap Base
- Liquid Soap Colors
- Grapefruit Essential Oil ( I also like to use Lavender and Rosemary)
- Grapeseed Oil
- Vintage Mini Jello Molds – I bought mine on Etsy
- Glass Measuring Cup
- Stirrer
- Non-Stick Cooking Spray
- Spray Bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol
Instructions:
I purchased 9 mini jello molds from an Etsy shop to make the glycerin soap. The diamond shape makes the soap look like little jewels.
Start by cutting the clear glycerin soap base into 1 inch cubes. Fill a 2 cup glass measuring cup with the soap cubes and microwave on high in 30 second increments. I believe I microwaved the soap 4 times. This was enough soap to fill the 9 mini molds with some extra left over.
To the melted soap base I added 15 drops of grapefruit essential oil, 1 oz of grapeseed oil, and 4 drops of red liquid soap coloring and stirred until well combined. I wanted a pale pink color so if you want a darker red you will need to add a lot more coloring. Keep in mind that when the soap hardens the color will get lighter.
Spray the tin molds with non-stick cooking spray and wipe out the excess with a towel. Pour the liquid soap into the molds, filling them to the top. Using a spray bottle with isopropyl alcohol, spray the top of the liquid soap in the molds. This will help eliminate air bubbles. Finally, let the soap harden for 2 hours. To remove the soap, I pulled on the edges of the molds to loosen the soap then popped them out easily.
