Stove Top Potatoes

Cook· Side Dish

Stove Top Potatoes by www.thecasualcraftlete.comHey there!  Today I am sharing one of our favorite family side dishes, Stove Top Potatoes.  This was one of the very first recipes I created just right after my husband and I got married.  It’s survived nine years and has always stayed the same.  These potatoes couldn’t be any easier to make and they are tasty and crispy.  It’s the perfect side dish to any meal.

Stove Top Potatoes recipe by www.thecasualcraftlete.comI like making these potatoes on the stove top rather than heating the oven.  A lot of times I bake the main meat dish in the oven, so there isn’t any space for the potatoes.  I think cooking the potatoes on the stove top makes them crispier and full of more flavor.

I start by washing and dicing a 3 lb bag of red potatoes.  In a large pot on the stove, add 1 TBS butter and 1 tsp olive oil.  Heat on high and add the potatoes.  Add 2 TBS garlic salt and 2 TBS Italian seasoning.  You can add more if you like.  Continuously stir until the potatoes are crispy on the outside and fork tender, usually 15 to 20.  Serve immediately.

These potatoes looks really yummy, I love that they’re cooked on the stove rather than in the oven I can just imagine how much crispier that makes them!
