Pomegranate Sugar Scrub

Craft· Home Health and Beauty· Skin Care· Soaps and Bath Bombs

Today I am sharing my Pomegranate Sugar Scrub.  The fruity smell is amazing and the scrub leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.  This would make a great homemade gift idea too!

Pomegranate Sugar Scrub

Recently I made a pomegranate lime spritzer and had some pomegranate juice left over.  So, I thought I would make a sugar scrub using the juice and it turned out fanatic!  I plan on giving these scrubs to my family but secretly I want to keep them for myself.  I love the pink color and the smell from the oil is just yummy.  You almost want to eat it, it’s that good.

DIY Pomegranate Sugar Scrub

All you need are a few ingredients to make the sugar scrub.  Start by adding 2 cups of granulated sugar into a large bowl.  Add 1/4 cup of coconut oil.  The coconut oil is what makes your skin soft and smooth.  Plus, there are many healthy benefits to using coconut oil.  Then, add 4 Tablespoons of fresh pomegranate juice.  I used natural juice instead of food coloring because of it’s natural benefits, plus food coloring can stain your skin.  Lastly, add a few drops of pomegranate essential oil, until you reach the smell you desire.  My local co-op did not have pomegranate essential oil, so I ordered mine from Amazon HERE.  Mix everything together until well combined.

Pomegranate Sugar Scrub DIY Gift

To package the scrub for gifts, I purchased a few 70 ml glass jars at my local craft store.  This recipe will fill approximately three 70 ml jars.  I found some pretty pink and red scrapbook paper and twine.  I used a 1 1/2 inch round circle punch to cut out circles from the scrapbook paper.  Then I used adhesive tape to attach the paper to the tops of the jar lids.  I added some pink twine around the rims of the lids to finish off the gifts.  I think they look super cute.

All Natural Pomegranate Sugar ScrubApply the scrub to your hands, feet and body.  You can leave the scrub next to the sink for your hands or place in the shower and use as an exfoliate to your body.  This is how I like to use and make my sugar scrub but you can always change the measurements and ingredients to your liking.

Fruity Pomegranate Sugar Scrub

The brand of pomegranate essential oil I used was Enteral Essence Oil.

Hi there, what brand of pomegranate oild did you use (you said that you ordered it from Amazon). I am interested in giving some scrubs a try but never know which oils to purchase.

    Thanks!

Katie, this scrub looks good enough to eat and I bet it smells amazing! I adore pomegranates so it might be a little dangerous keeping this by the tub since I’d want to eat the whole thing 🙂 Thanks for sharing on The Makers!

What’s the brand of pomegranate essential oil you used? I can only find Pom seed oil and everything I’m reading says it smells bad. Thanks!

If you keep it free of moisture, it should last a couple of months.
