Hello there! I am loving the dark non-traditional colors for fall this year. Have you seen them in the stores yet? I’ve noticed lots of blues, purples, maroon, and greens. I guess when I think of fall my mind goes to darker hues. This painted wood herb planter is going to be so gorgeous for autumn. I chose a new chalky finish paint that is a bold blue. The green herbs really pop off of this shade. It’s perfect for the window sill in my kitchen.
My family and I took a weekend vacation to Nashville, TN over Memorial Day weekend. We hit up the large flea market that is there. If you ever get a chance to go, you should. It’s amazing and there are so many precious treasures. One of the vendors was selling these unfinished wood boxes. You can use it for candles, but I choose to use it as an herb planter.

Instructions:
I gave the unfinished wood box two coats of paint, letting the first coat dry completely before applying the second coat. I just absoultly love this blue color. It is bold and so beautiful. The chalky finish is perfection. You have to seen it in person.
I thought since the cooler months will be here soon, I would use this herb planter in my kitchen. I planted three thyme plants inside the planter. It will be soup and stew season soon, so I will be using lots of thyme in those types of recipes. What are your favorite herbs to plant?
The blue paint color matches great with my kitchen decor. I have had these olive plates from Crate & Barrel for ten years now and I still love them. This blue and green color combo is great!
Sometimes the easiest projects turn out the best. I mean it really doesn’t get much simpler than this one. I love how this painted wood herb planter looks!
