Organization: Ribbon Clothespins

Craft· For The Home· Home Decor

Organization:  Ribbon Clothespins – helps keep your random scraps of ribbon nice and neat by wrapping them around wooden clothespins.  It’s a great organization tip for your office and craft room.

Organization Ribbon Clothespins

Hello there!  Today I am sharing a super simple organization tip on how to store your loose scraps of ribbon.  If your craft room is anything like mine, it’s a total disaster.  Well, maybe it’s not a disaster all the time, but most of the time.  I have a problem with starting a project and before said project is finished, I will have started a different one.  This leads to crazy amounts of supplies and material clutter everywhere.

Use wooden clothespins to organize loose scraps of ribbon

For years I have been stuffing my loose ribbon scraps into a gallon sized plastic bag.  They are wedged in the bag and are wrinkled.  Go figure.  If I need a piece of ribbon I would have to search through the bag until I found the one I needed.  So, one day I was at a local shop in my hometown and came across these antique wood spools and clothespins wrapped with pretty lace.  I have been buying some here and there to use in a few of my craft projects as background filler.  Then I got the idea to use the clothespins to help organize my loose ribbons.  Brilliant!

Craft Clothespin ProjectFor this project you will need:

  • Wooden clothespins
  • Ribbon scraps
  • Satin Pins

How to use wooden clothespins to organize ribbon

I started at the top of the clothespin with a piece of scrap ribbon.  Then I simply wrapped the ribbon around the wooden clothespin.

Easy way to store ribbon is by wrapping ribbon around a clothespin

Once you get to the end of the ribbon, secure the tail by using a satin pin or sewing pin.  This will keep the ribbon tightly wrapped around the clothespin.

I love how easy this organization tip is!  Plus, it is so effective in storing loose ribbon.  Definitely much better than a plastic bag.  These ribbon clothespins are so cute and can now be displayed in the craft room instead of being crammed away.
