Hello there!  Are you still having cold weather were you live?  It has snowed twice this week already and I am ready for spring.  My skin has taken a major beating this winter from the cold weather and dry heat in my house.  Today I am sharing a very simple Homemade Moisturizing Cream that is perfect for dry itchy skin.  This cream has just 3 ingredients and couldn’t be easier to make.  It is great for your hands and body and gentle enough for your face.  It makes a great gift too!

Last month I made a DIY Cuticle Oil and I absoultly love it.  I have noticed a huge improvement in my cuticles and nails.  I had some left over supplies from the oil, so I thought I would make a homemade moisturizing cream that I could use on my hands, face and body.  I love making my own healthy and beauty products and using supplies for more than one use.  By making your own healthcare products, you know exactly what is used to make it and how it is made.

  • 1/2 cup Coconut Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Grapeseed Oil
  • 5 to 7 drops Cleansing Tea Tree Oil

Instructions:

  • Add coconut, grapeseed, and tea trees oils in a bowl and stir until well combined.  Store in a 1/2 pint mason jar with a lid in a cool dry place.
  • To use – place a very small amount of the cream to your hands, face, and body and rub it into your skin.

This Homemade Moisturizing Cream should keep up to one year.  However, the cream never makes it that long for me because I use it one to two times per day.

All of these oils used for the cream recipe are very moisturizing to the skin.  The tea tree oil is cleansing and actually very good for acne prone skin.  That is why it is great to use on your face.

I’d like to try this! I’ve been using just coconut oil for the last year, but have been feeling like I need extra moisturizing recently. Do you know whether the grapeseed oil I have in my kitchen is similar enough to Aura Cacia’s?

Hi Lindie! The kitchen grapeseed oil might have slightly different ingredients but it should still work. Let me know how it turns out!
