DIY Valentine’s Day Burlap Gift Bags

DIY Valentine’s Day Burlap Gift Bags – super cute and easy to make!  No special tools required.

DIY Valentine's Day Burlap Gift Bags #burlap #Valentines #giftbags #DIY #treatbags

Today I am super excited to show you these cute DIY Valentine’s Day Burlap Gift Bags.  I have always loved Valentine’s Day.  The pretty pinks and reds.  Heavenly flowers and gifts.  And CHOCOLATE!!!  Did I mention chocolate?!

This craft project was so quick and easy!  I absolutely love projects like this one.  It took no time at all to make these cute heart DIY Valentine’s Day burlap  gift bags.  How could you go wrong with a sweet little heart bag filled with candy?

DIY Valentine's Day Gift Bag #burlap #Valentines #giftbags #DIY #treatbags

Materials used:

  • Pre-made burlap gift bags (or you can make you own)
  • Heart stencil using Cricut
  • Paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Glitter
  • Twine

I found these cute little pre-made burlap bags at Michael’s right after Christmas.  I love that they are blank because you can do any kind of craft project imaginable.  They were super cheap too!  Gotta love after Christmas sales.

I made a heart stencil using my Cricut machine.  Of course, if you don’t have a machine you can always use a punch or print a template off the computer.  I taped down the stencil to secure it  to the bag so that it didn’t move on me.

Then, I applied acrylic paint using a foam sponge brush.  I would recommended placing a piece of paper inside the bag to prevent the paint from bleeding through.  Americana paint dries quickly then your done.

How to make a Valentine's Day burlap gift bag #burlap #Valentines #giftbags #DIY #treatbags

And that’s it.  Super simple and easy.  I just added some colored twine for an embellishment, but the bags come with a drawstring.  You can fill these cute little bags with candy or whatever else you want.  These DIY Valentine’s Day burlap gift bags would be great to make for the classroom.
