DIY Envelopes plus Free Printable Hello Card

Happy Friday!  I am really excited to show you how to make these DIY Envelopes.  Plus, I have included a Free Printable Hello Card.  These envelopes are easy to make with an existing envelope and scrapbook paper.  What better way to send happy mail to someone you love than with these personalized envelopes and card.

DIY Paper Envelopes from www.thecasualcraftlete.com

Okay, so by now you should know I have a problem with gorgeous scrapbook paper.  I can’t stop buying it and I just love making pretty things with paper.  I have a lot of friends who live all across the US and when I find time I enjoy sending happy mail to them.  Something that I am passionate about is personalized and handmade gifts.  These DIY Envelopes and Free Printable Hello Card make my heart happy.

DIY Scrapbook Paper Envelopes

MATERIALS:

  • Standard size envelope
  • 12 x 12 Scrapbook paper (I used doubled sided)
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive tape

These DIY envelopes are incredibly easy to make.  No special tools required.  All you need is a standard 5.75 x 4.375 envelope.

First, I started by taking apart a standard size envelope.  Lay the unfolded envelope onto a piece of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper.  I used double sided scrapbook paper so there will be a pattern on both the inside and outside of my DIY envelope.  Use a pencil and trace around the standard envelope on what will be the inside of the DIY envelope.

Cut along the traced lines with a pair of scissors.

Fold the two flat ends into the center of the paper.

Next, fold in one of the pointy ends to the center.  Use adhesive tape to adhere the flap down.

Place your card inside of the envelope.  Then, fold the top of the envelope to the center and seal with a piece of washi tape.

How cute are these envelopes?  I love the different patterns and colors.  They are much more cheery than a plan white envelopes.  Plus, they are guaranteed to put a smile on the receivers face.

Yay for happy mail!
