Crayon Box

Craft· Paper

Create a cute DIY crayon box with fun scrapbook paper. Perfect for back to school and parties!

Crayon Box - create a cute crayon box with fun scrapbook paper. Perfect for back to school and parties!Hello there!  Today I am sharing how you can make a super cute crayon box.  I thought since most kids are headed back to school soon I wanted to make a fun craft for the kiddos.  You can create this small crayon box with pattern scrapbook paper for pops of color and creativity.  These crayon boxes would be cute for party favors or Sunday school craft projects.

DIY Crayon Box TutorialMy daughter is starting preschool in just a couple of weeks.  She is my only child and though I am excited and ready for her to go to school, the mama bear in me is scared.  She will just be going a couple of hours a day, so it’s not that big of a deal, right?!  I thought making a crayon box for her would make coloring extra special.

Materials for crayon box (I have included affiliate links below. Thanks for supporting The Casual Craftlete!):

  • Scrapbook paper and cardstock
  • Crayon box Silhouette cut file
  • Silhouette Cameo
  • Glue Pen

Instructions:

First you need to download the crayon box Silhouette cut file.  The Silhouette file can easily fit onto the 8.5″ x 11″ scrapbook paper.  In the cut settings menu, select Standard and Cardstock settings.  Making sure the ratchet blade is at the correct setting (mine is 3), go ahead and cut the crayon box image.

Silhouette Crayon Box Cut File

I made multiple crayon boxes to interchange the scrapbook paper.  I used solid cardstock for the crayon box and pattern scrapbook paper for the front and back overlays.

Silhouette Cut File for Back To School

The body of the crayon box is the only piece with perforated lines that need to be folded.  The two edges of the crayon box needs to be adhered together.  First, I tired an adhesive tape runner and found out that did not hold well.  So, I used a glue pen and that worked great!

Easy to make crayon boxThe Silhouette file came with four small lines that you are supposed to adhere to the sides of the crayon box.  I personally didn’t like how they looked, so I added my own embellishments.

DIY Scrapbook Paper Crayon BoxEach crayon box holds 8 crayons.  Just enough for my little preschooler.

DIY Crayon Box - create a cute crayon box with fun scrapbook paper. Perfect for back to school and parties!I just love this crayon box!  I think these crayon boxes would be so cute at a birthday party.  You can use the boxes for coloring crafts or give as party favors.  What would you use it for?
