Candy Corn Treat Bags

Craft· Handmade Gifts· Holidays· Paper

Candy Corn Treat Bags

There are a lot of Halloween treat bags on the market these days, but of course I had to hand make my own.  I already had a bunch of white glassine bags I bought at Michael’s that I wanted to use.  Since the bags are white I thought of adding orange and yellow paint to the bags to make them look like Candy Corn which is the ultimate Halloween candy, right?!

The treat bags I made are meant to look hand made.  That is why I love them so much!

Material used:

  • White glassine bags
  • Yellow and Orange acrylic paint
  • 2 foam brushes
  • Tape measure
  • Pencil

Supplies to make candy corn treat bags

Step 1:  Mark each glassine bag into thirds with a pencil.  I used a light orange pencil that is easily covered by the paint.

Step 2:  Start by dipping one of the foam brushes into the yellow paint and paint the bottom third of the bag.  I used DecoArt Americana acrylic paint in the color Bright Yellow.  *I just poured my paint onto a paper plate for easy clean up.

Step 3:  Paint the middle third of the bag with the orange paint.  The paint color was Jack-O-Lantern Orange.  Of course I had to pick that color for Halloween.  *You can start painting the orange before the yellow paint dries.

Step 4:   Give each paint color a second coat of paint and let set overnight.

These Candy Corn Treat Bags would be great for you kids to take as gits to their Halloween party at school or just to give out as trick or treat bags to the neighbor kiddos.

AND the treat bags are perfect for my PUMPKIN PATCH MUNCH which is a sweet and salty mix of peanuts and candy corn!

This was a fun and easy craft to make.  My kind of crafting!  Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

These look fantastic! I sewed candy corn bags last year http://eclecticlamb.com/2012/10/31/halloween-treats-2012/ they were fun but took a long time. I already made this years, but maybe I will try yours next year. Thanks!
