Burlap Chevron Wreath

Craft· For The Home· Home Decor

IMG_1673[1]

My husband is in the process of redoing our front porch.  The support underneath was rotten and had to be torn out.  We have been putting this off for a few years now, but we are making progress.  We are hoping to have the porch finished this year and next year we can paint the siding and add some shutters.

So, in the meantime I wanted to spruce things up by making this burlap chevron wreath.

These are the items I used to make it:

  • 18″ Straw Wreath
  • 2 Spools of Burlap Chevron Ribbon
  • 1 Spool of Burlap Ribbon
  • White Wooden Letter E
  • 2 Picture Hanging Brackets
  • 1 Can of Lime Green Spray Paint
  • Twine
  • Glue Gun

I found all these items at Hobby Lobby.  They have 50% off sales often, so I think I got everything I needed for less the $20.  That’s pretty good!  Pre-made wreaths go for over $50 and aren’t personalized.

First I started by rapping the Chevron Ribbon around the wreath form.  I used a glue gun to secure the ribbon in place.

Then I made a bow out of a regular burlap ribbon and tied it around the wreath.

The wooden letter I bought came in white and I wanted to add some color.  I used a can of lime green spray paint to match the ribbon.  It’s a close match I think.

Then I just added some brackets to the back of the letter and looped some twine in between.

The last step was to attach the letter to the wreath.  I did this by tying the twine to the burlap bow.

I think this wreath is super cute and added a pop of color and personalization!

Hopefully we will be able to finish up the porch project soon!  I will keep everyone updated!
