Blue and Copper Tablescape – create a beautiful and inexpensive table setting for Thanksgiving this year.

Hello there!  Today, I am sharing a Thanksgiving table setting ideas that are easy and cheap to create.  This Blue and Copper Tablescape was made with supplies from Target’s dollar spot and DecoArt Metallic paint.  It is amazing what a little paint can do and I just love the blue and copper together.

• Placemats 
• Wood box
• Paper pad
• Give Thanks Stencil 

The placemats, wood box, and paper pad was purchased from Target’s dollar spot.

Instructions:

First, I started by painting the wood box.  I mixed the Ice Blue Dazzling Metallic and Pewter Metallics paint together.  The ice blue was too bright and I wanted to tone it down a bit.  I applied just one coat of the custom paint mix using a foam paint brush.

Once the paint was dry, I used a fine tip paint brush to hand paint vines onto the wood box using Copper Dazzling Metallic paint.  I am not an illustrator but even this was easy for me to do.  The branch vines are a theme throughout this Blue and Copper Tablescape.

I am using the painted wood box for a non-traditional centerpiece.  I came up with the idea of writing either recipes or what you are thankful for on a piece of matching scrapbook paper which was located in the dollar spot next to the wood box.  What do you think of this idea?

Next, I made a stencil using cardstock and an image I bought from the Silhouette design store.  The Give Thanks is Design ID #154825 and can be purchased for $0.99.  I love the simple design and it has the branch vines to go with the theme.  I cut the design out on a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock and taped it to the center of one of the placemats.  I held down the stencil where I was painting and used a round foam paint brush to dab the copper paint on the placemat.  Use minimum paint to prevent smudges.  Allow the paint to completely dry before removing paper stencil.

I just love how easy this Blue and Copper Tablescape came together.  The shimmer from the metallic paints is just perfect!
