Hello there!  My name is Katie. I am from a small town in Southern Illinois. I am a lover of crafts, baking and making my house a home. Purely Katie is a blog dedicated to simple crafting tutorials, diy projects, recipes, and homemade health and beauty products.

I am a wife to my wonderful yet quirky husband, Mike. We have had our ups and downs just like any couple, but GOD is the glue that holds our marriage together. We met at church (the same church we still attend) in 2002. I love him to pieces. Even though I might not always show it or say it, he knows it.

We have a beautiful daughter Ellie. Ellie is the reason why I am able to blog and do the things I love.  Once I got pregnant I knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom. Thank goodness that was God’s plan all along.  NOW I am able to raise my daughter and do the hobbies I enjoy doing. I have always been a crafty person. My favorite crafts to make are ones that can be given as gifts to others…cards, etc. I LOVE food, especially sweets and enjoy making new things.  Also, I just started running a few years ago and love every minute of it…well almost!
