Hello there!  How has your new year been so far?  My family and I have been fighting head colds on and off since Christmas…ugh.  But, in the midst of sickness I was able to work on a 5 minute craft for my home decor.  This Hand-Painted Striped Concrete Canister with Knob Pull is so cute and I just love it.  I choose a color of paint that fits with my living room decorations and picked a beautiful knob that was half price at Anthropologie.  This little canister is displayed on my Hairpin Leg Entryway Table next to my Himalayan salt lamp and adds so much color and character to my eclectic style.

Instructions:

I found this small concrete canister with wooden lid at Cracker Barrel of all places.  It was on sale and I thought it was the perfect plain canister to craft with.

I started by picking an acrylic paint color that would match my living room decorations.  This color is Hauser Dark Green made by DecoArt.

I used a number 6 paint brush to hand paint horizontal stripes on the concrete canister.  I did apply three coats of paint for full coverage.  Just let the paint dry completely before applying addition coats.

So, obviously I wanted hand-painted looking stripes on the canister but if you want a more precise and clean look, you could use painters tape for smooth paint lines.

Finally, I drilled a small hole through the center of the wooden lid.  Then, I screwed the knob through the hole.  I just love the hand-painted knobs from Anthropologie and I was able to snatch this one for half price.

I love the colors on this knob pull and the green is a perfect match to the acrylic paint that I used.  It also has the pretty pinks and corals that match my home decor too.
